Ric was educated in Sydney obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Pure and Applied Chemistry from the University of New South Wales and a Diploma of Environmental Studies from Macquarie University.

Ric has more than 45 years’ experience in the industry after working for various companies, starting with Sterling Pharmaceuticals in 1969 and including major international companies Colgate-Palmolive, S.C.Johnson & Son, Lever-Rexona, Australian pharmaceutical companies F.H.Faulding & Co. Ltd. and Medical Research / Vetsearch P/L, just to name a few, as well as operating his own consultancy business for many years. Ric’s last position before restarting his consultancy was 5 years at NxGen Pharmaceuticals P/L, as their Research & Development Manager.

Cosmepeutics International Pty Ltd, begun in 1995 was Ric’s original company in Sydney.

Ric has been a Member of the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists since 1982, a Council member for a total of 14 years holding many positions on the Council, and an ASCC Technical Committee member from 1984 to 2016.

In 1996 Ric was the Technical Program Convener of the IFSCC Congress, held in Sydney. In 2014 Ric received the honour of being elected a “Fellow” of the Society for services in the technical field.

Ric is a committee member (formulation expert) on the Cosmetic Advisory Committee to the director of NICNAS (a division of the Federal Department of Health) and a course advisor to the University of Western Sydney.

He has presented many lectures and workshops at national conferences of the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists (ASCC); Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia (APAA); the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, A5M (Australasian Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine), Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Special Interest Group (CAPSIG) and also beauty collages nationwide.

Ric also contributes a permanent column ('Formulator’s Forum') to the Australian magazine 'The Science of Beauty', published by Manor Enterprises.
